June Updates

Two new clever Apps to help you with Freecycling and making good use of waste food…

(Borrowed fro Transition Leicesters Website) - This is a genius idea if it works, to help with wastage of food

Food Movr: http://foodmovr.appspot.com/

Food waste is inescapable, whether you’re a caterer, a cafeteria, or a restaurant. With FoodMovr, you can find people to make use of the food, instead of throwing it away.

If you’re a food bank, soup kitchen, or some random person on the street, this app connects you with those who have extra food.

Carnival of Cycling- on Saturday 18th June:  http://carnivalofcycling.wordpress.com/

Bike Week (18th to 26th June)  Event Finder:  http://www.bikeweek.org.uk/event_search.php

Bike Week other:  We've just googled it for you...

First ever Green Directory for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland is launched:
Link:  http://www.ruralcc.org.uk/ and  http://www.ruralcc.org.uk/green-directory.html
and http://www.ruralcc.org.uk/sharing-our-stories.html
There is no Nottingham equivalent - unless of course you tell us different!
Having a paid staff post to run the Communities Cutting carbon Project in Leicester is helping to facilitate lots of other good projects - the Ruralcc directory is a good example.
(I had trouble with viewing it in a browser - save it to desktop and view with normal acrobat reader)
